In Bride of Frankenstein, Henry Frankenstein’s former mentor Doctor Septimus Pretorius, proposes to Henry that together they create a mate for his monster. Henry agrees to help his mentor when the monster kidnaps his wife, Elizabeth. After being assured of her safety, Henry completes the Bride’s body. Lightning strikes, sending electricity through the Bride and they remove her bandages and help her stand. The monster sees his mate and approaches her only to find her horrified by his appearance, hissing and screaming her disapproval. The monster rampages through the lab and tells Henry and Elizabeth to go and live. He says to Pretorius and the Bride to stay as they belong dead. The monster sheds a tear as the Bride hisses and pulls a lever that triggers an explosion that destroys the lab and tower.

Known to his friends as “Chewie”, Chewbacca was a legendary Wookiee from Kashyyyk and co-pilot of Han Solo’s ship, the Millennium Falcon. Son of Attichitcuk, husband of Mallatobuck and father of Lumpawaroo, Chewbacca carried the name of the ancient Wookie hero, the great Bacca. Chewbacca was a wise, sophisticated being of great strength and loyalty. As technologically savvy as the brightest Academy graduate, he was also a skilled mechanic.
So, today, in honor of that gentle giant, you are challenged to draw CHEWBACCA for about 30 minutes!

Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels was a Ruby-Spears cartoon series produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions in the late 1970’s. The show centered on the mystery-solving adventures of the Teen Angels (Brenda, Dee Dee and Taffy--and their friend Captain Caveman (Cavey for short), a prehistoric caveman whom the girls discovered and thawed from a block of ice. A mixture of Charlie’s Angels and Scooby Doo, the series ran for about three seasons on ABC.

While it is difficult to pin-point one mother figure in comics that makes a great representative for the role mothers play in our lives, the one that seems to stick out the most in American comics is AUNT MAY. Batman's mother dies in his origin story. In some stories, Superman's parents are long dead. All of Captain America's relatives are rarely portrayed in flashback. Wolverine has no memories of his past. In fact so many characters are either orphans or were only raised by one parent that it's kind of odd.
