Summoned to his Uncle Nathan Garrett’s castle and begged to restore honor to their family legacy and atone for Garrett’s own misdeeds as the Black Knight, Dane Whitman donned his own armor as the next Black Knight.

Black Mask is a very powerful crimelord in Gotham City.  Roman Sionis is a ruthlessly effective criminal mastermind.  Usually, he controls the False Face Society, named after his obsession with masks.  The mask he wears is ebony carved from his mother’s coffin.

Felicia Hardy is the Black Cat, a cat burglar and sometimes vigilante with impressive fighting skills and the ability to alter pobabilities--giving one bad luck. Originally concieved by Marv Wolfman as a foil for Spider-Woman, he retooled her original story for his run as the writer of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN. Soon, Spidey had a new love interest and opponent all in one.
